Stanley Takes 3rd In Final Championship Standings

Chester’s Jamie Stanley secured third place in the 2008 Time Attack Championship at Snetterton with a stunning third place finish.





For the final round of the season the championship moved to Snetterton in Norfolk one of the fastest circuits in the UK and teams expecting speeds up to 180mph. Stanley again would be driving the Orange Evo of Bob Moore. As the team arrived at Snetterton there would still be a mathematical chance of winning the championship but this did require some poor luck for both of the championship rivals.

With the day being delayed initially due to the severe fog when the cars finally came out for the Practice session Stanley set the early pace of 1:11.6 and finished the session comfortably quickest. The team elected to just complete one lap of qualifying with Stanley again topping the time sheets before heading into the super battle.





As the final super battle of the season got underway Stanley initially topped the time sheets with 1.12.3 and then pitted to wait for the circuit conditions to improve. With the tream having topped the time sheets in every session there was every reason to be confident as the session drew to a close the true pace of the championship contender’s began to show as Olly Clark dropped into the 1.09’s.

Stanley went out onto the circuit to make one final attempt but sadly was unable to better his time after sliding off the road on some coolant from another car. The car suffered minor damage and was unable to take any further part in proceedings.

As the session Ended the Olly Clark Took the win followed by Steve Guglielmi and Jamie Stanley taking the final podium slot Just the way the tam had started the season at Donington in April.

“Its been a fantastic year we have had some really bad luck but the team have worked really hard and I’m pleased we managed to bring a Championship trophy home hopefully next year we can go for the big one” Said Stanley.

Bob Moores Orange Evo Secured Third in the Championship the highest independent entry in Time Attack Pro it secured a top five Finish in every round and took four of the Six MLR fastest Evo Awards a truly stunning effort.

“ I would really like to thank Bob for putting me in his car its truly a awesome car doing 172 along the revett straight is truly stunning for a road car” Added Stanley.
